Rebecca Black and Ark Music Factory…The colab that should never have happened

Rebecca Black the American flop star has created a viral hit – It’s Friday and millions are up in arms. How does one little 13 year old girl upset so many people to the point of death threats? This is how…

Ark Music Factory (AMF) founded by Patrice Wilson and composer also producer Clarence Jay is to blame for the release of a music video that has the highest dislikes on youtube. AMF recruits young singers and gives them a push into the pop music industry. Mz Black’s parents forked out $4000 for the production of Friday and wow, they should be so proud that they have taught their daughter such valuable skills….knowing the days of the week. With 2,397,813 dislikes she doubles that of Justin Bieber’s Baby which raked up 1,297,260 dislikes.

The song has been riduculed for its senseless lyrics…
Kickin’ in the front seat

I can never look at Friday the same way again

Sittin’ in the back seat
Gotta make my mind up

Which seat can I take?

It’s Friday, Friday
Gotta get down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend, weekend

Friday, Friday
Gettin’ down on Friday
Everybody’s lookin’ forward to the weekend

Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)

We-we-we so excited
We so excited
We gonna have a ball today

Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after…wards
I don’t want this weekend to end

What followed was a flood of parodies and a reply from Patrice Wilson, AMF producer and composer, to the mass of negative replies. The reply is call You Can Say What You Want To Say…

Lyrics include classic lines like, “I keep hearing people call me a pedophile. ” and… “People call me fat usher.” Patrice then goes on to explain that the reason there was no school bus in the music video was because of lack of funding…consequently they had to add Rebecca’s friends picking her up in the car which lead to the “Which seat should I choose?” dilemma.

The funniest and most accurate parody by far…Sadie B

Sadie should take Rebecca to church so she can stop partying partying partying yeah and start worshiping worshiping worshiping yeah!

Gotta get my bowl gotta get cereal

Rebecca Black appeared on the Jay Leno show and expressed her deep love for music. Jay Leno carefully asked Rebecca if she thought if there there was anything special with the song (he was trying to ask her if she knew how stupid the song sounded) her reply was that she thought it was “different” because its not “indecent”. Rebecca also admitted she spilled some tears over the nasty comments. The money Rebecca has made from the hit video will be donated to Japan and to her school.

Good Morning America viewed another angle of the AMF production as the “worst video in the world”. They interview Rebecca with regards to the intense hate speech and cyber bullying she has been experiencing.  Although she has received comments such as, “Even deaf people would hate this song” she remains positive and light-hearted about the 0nline attacks. Rebecca commented that the worst comment she had received was, “I hope you cut yourself and die”. AMF has also received flack for auto tuning Rebecca’s voice and many challenge the authenticity of her true singing voice.

Rebecca Black is coming back for more with a upcoming release LOL. She also has a request for Justin Bieber… hmmm I smell another collaboration from Hades.

Although this song really does lack substance I must commend her good intentions. She had a dream and followed it regardless of whether people thought she was good enough or not. Hey even Chris Brown thinks its hot…

About nicobaleng

My paradoxical love for the web is feeling immense freedom while confined to a seated position behind a desk. This is what the world wide web has to offer. Learning about the latest technological toys or playing around with programs sounds like nerds-play, but once you start exploring, the pc monitor in front of you becomes less and less intimidating. Tracked and documented I will share the journey of an average Joe like me, moving up toward achieving a black belt in web design! KAPOW!
